Customer Solutions Field Engineer (Radar)

Location: Hoffman Estates, Illinois, United States. Regular travel of up to 50% is required, including domestic and international travel. Field testing takes approximately 20% of the role and is mostly local to the Hoffman Estates area.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the technical success of customer deployments, including installation, commissioning, configuration, calibration, acceptance testing, and documentation.
• Assess customer sites and deployment plans for sensor placement, coverage, networking, mounting, connectivity, and system dependencies.
• Validate system performance using hands-on testing, RF and electronic measurement equipment, system data, and engineering judgment.
• Troubleshoot customer and field issues through resolution, coordinating with hardware, RF, software, and product engineering teams.
• Train customer personnel and support field testing of new features, including tests involving drones and aircraft.
• Collaborate with engineering, technical sales, and customer-facing teams to prepare deployments and communicate field feedback.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience with RF, wireless, radar, sensing, electronic, or similarly complex systems.
• Practical knowledge of antennas, propagation, interference, signal levels, and system-level RF troubleshooting.
• Ability to communicate technical information to customers, troubleshoot complex systems, and drive issues through resolution.

Nice to have

• Experience with radar, mmWave systems, RF sensing, or related wireless technologies.
• Experience deploying technical products in customer environments.
• Familiarity with unmanned aircraft systems, aviation, surveillance, government, defense, public-safety, or security customers.
• Hands-on projects involving RF, electronics, drones, robotics, or sensing systems.
