Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at 's global headquarters. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance. U.S. Government ITAR authorization requirements apply.
Base salary: $141,800–$212,600 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $174,300–$269,875 USD annually.

What you will do
- Lead the technical development of space-based radar systems from architecture and prototyping through integration, testing, and flight development.
- Define radar performance requirements, link budgets, payload trades, radar modes, timing, PRF selection, and RF chain designs.
- Analyze radar performance, including range and Doppler resolution, SNR, ambiguity, interference, orbital effects, and mission revisit characteristics.
- Design waveform and processing approaches, develop calibration strategies, and validate image quality for spaceborne radar systems.
- Develop radar ground support equipment, test plans, procedures, and automated test systems; perform hands-on RF testing and characterization.
- Support spacecraft integration, technical reviews, proposals, customer troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with bus subsystem and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience developing radar/RF systems for space applications.
- Hands-on experience with space-based radar integration, mission operations, imaging modes, processing, and performance assessment.
- Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics, spacecraft systems, waveform design, pulse compression, Doppler processing, link budgets, linearity, and noise analysis.
- Experience with radar simulation and orbital analysis tools such as MATLAB, STK, or custom codes, plus radar testing and RF performance characterization.
- U.S. citizenship is required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
Nice to have
- Existing DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Extensive experience with space-grade radar design and environmental testing.
- Knowledge of advanced SAR techniques, including GMTI, InSAR, and polarimetry.
