Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer (Aerospace)

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop and optimize CNC milling and secondary machining processes for new and legacy components.
• Create CNC programs, NC code, operation sheets, and manufacturing instructions for high-precision parts and sub-assemblies.
• Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, workholding, and machine requirements.
• Troubleshoot shop-floor issues and support machine setup, program prove-outs, inspection, and production operations.
• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and collaborate with cross-functional teams on design and process improvements.
• Estimate setup and run times, support cost estimates, mentor junior engineers, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 3 years of relevant experience, an associate degree with at least 6 years of experience, or at least 8 years of proven professional experience.
• Proficiency in CNC mill machining and at least 3 years of CNC programming using CAD/CAM software.
• Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation.
• Ability to work onsite in Buffalo, New York.
• The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering degree and aerospace industry experience.
• Experience with machine automation integration and inspection of machined parts.
• Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.
• Siemens NX CNC programming experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
