Team Lead - Network Operations (Satcom)

Location: San Francisco, United States

Salary: $130,000–$230,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own Tier 2 network operations for operational and under-development customer networks.
• Design and continuously improve procedures for network deployment, maintenance, and outage recovery.
• Lead live incident response, coordinate with mission operations and engineering, and drive root cause analyses.
• Automate operational workflows and recovery scripts using Python and Bash.
• Develop telemetry, monitoring dashboards, and alert pipelines with engineering teams.
• Support ground-system deployments, antenna and RF commissioning, customer-network integration, recruiting, and technical mentoring.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in network operations, satellite communications, NOC, or technical support.
• Formal people-management experience or experience acting as a technical lead or mentor.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, BGP, VLANs, NAT, DNS, and/or RF concepts.
• Practical scripting experience with Python or Bash for task automation and network or telemetry data processing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including post-mortems and cross-functional customer communication.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required.

Nice to have

• Tier 2/3 Satcom or telecom network operations experience.
• Experience with RF terminals, antennas, satellite payload architectures, VSAT hubs, and modulators/demodulators.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet hardware and firewalls.
• Linux administration, KVM network virtualization, or containerized environments.
