Staff Software Engineer

Salary: USD $140,400–$372,300 per year, plus potential bonus, stock, and other rewards.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, ship, and support scalable software across multiple hirify.global services.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, pairing, code reviews, architecture briefs, and technical proposals.
• Design and implement APIs, automated processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own system health, reliability, security, compliance, observability, and operational excellence, including participation in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on technical solutions, cost considerations, roadmaps, testing plans, and success metrics.
• Use debugging and telemetry tools to resolve issues and optimize performance and maintainability.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software engineering or related technical experience, or equivalent experience; alternative education and experience combinations are accepted.
• Production software development experience with one or more languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Experience with large-scale system architecture and design, distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-based environments.
• Experience with scripting languages, software platforms, databases, frontend frameworks, or telemetry dashboards.
• Experience with cloud environments or Cloud Native Computing Foundation concepts.
• Experience with planetary-scale APIs, GraphQL, queuing and streaming systems, monitoring, or performance optimization is valuable.
