First Shift Maintenance Tech B

Location: Jacksonville, Texas, USA; full-time, first-shift position with on-site and road-service duties.

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis, and vehicle control systems.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air-brake, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and light-engine systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently.
• Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify equipment malfunctions.
• Complete company training programs and support drivers operating their routes.

Requirements

• Three to five years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with or knowledge of Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspension and steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license required. ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous but not required.
