2027 Summer Intern - Software Engineering

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; work arrangement details, including the proportion of on-site and remote work, will be discussed during the interview.

Salary: $36–$40 per hour for the Illinois market, based on experience, qualifications, and position location.

What you will do

• Develop, code, test, and debug software applications and system enhancements across the software development life cycle.
• Support technical design, development, integration, and application management across platforms.
• Collaborate with technology and business partners to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Apply information security, regulatory, and internal policy requirements to software work.
• Participate in training, mentorship, community outreach, and leadership development opportunities.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related degree program.
• Expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Foundational knowledge of the software development life cycle, databases such as Oracle and SQL, and batch processing.
• Understanding of FTP, SFTP, file transfer, network security, and firewalls.
• Programming experience with Python and the ability to learn new tools and technologies.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the specified United States location; a valid work or study permit may be required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of artificial intelligence or security tools and concepts.
