Forward Deployed Solutions Engineer (Early Career)

Location: Canada (Remote or Hybrid)

Expected base salary: CAD $85,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Build production software and customer solutions alongside experienced engineers and mentors.
• Design and develop API integrations connecting payment, CRM, ERP, and accounting systems.
• Automate manual business processes and design data workflows and reconciliation logic.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and improve existing platform capabilities.
• Participate in customer discovery sessions and translate business challenges into technical solutions.
• Work across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and directly with enterprise customers while documenting technical best practices.

Requirements

• Completing or recently completing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems, Physics, or Mechatronics; equivalent technical experience is also welcome.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language, such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, Go, C++, or another modern language.
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals and familiarity with Git.
• Basic understanding of APIs, databases, or web applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, ownership, curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical people.
• Interest in APIs, integrations, automation, or cloud software and in seeing work used by real customers.

Nice to have

• Internship or co-op experience.
• Applications used by real people, personal projects, open-source projects, hackathon participation, or projects built outside the classroom.
• Experience working with APIs, building full-stack applications, working at a startup, or automating repetitive work.
