Salary: $154,000–$181,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Analyze, design, and optimize converter topologies, including loss calculations and costed bills of materials.
  • Develop schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard design tools.
  • Design magnetic components such as inductors and transformers, including core and winding selection and loss estimation.
  • Model and simulate power electronics converters to evaluate performance and guide design decisions.
  • Debug, test, and validate power stages through hands-on laboratory bring-up and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with electrical, firmware, controls, and systems engineering teams throughout design, development, testing, and validation.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience for mid-level candidates; strong academic, project, or internship experience may qualify junior-level candidates.
  • Experience with power electronics converters, including rectifiers and inverters.
  • Working knowledge of magnetics analysis and design.
  • Experience with PLECS, Simulink, or comparable power electronics modeling and simulation tools.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and laboratory testing and debugging of power electronics hardware.

Nice to have

  • Experience with OrCAD.
  • Knowledge of power electronics control fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with digital design and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as Ansys Maxwell.
