Plant Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: Full-time, on-site role at the manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, NY, United States

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year, plus equity options

Builds powerful, affordable industrial robots designed to scale and is expanding its manufacturing and financial infrastructure following a Series C funding round.

What you will do

• Own monthly close, plant financial reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Lead facility budgeting and forecasting for labor, materials, overhead, and capital expenditures.
• Oversee standard costs, bill of materials accuracy, landed cost methodology, and labor allocation.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and partner with Operations on corrective actions.
• Manage inventory valuation, cycle counts, obsolescence reserves, internal controls, and audit support.
• Partner with Procurement and Operations on vendor costs, tariffs, supply chain trends, and financial training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing or plant finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory valuation.
• Experience partnering with plant and operations leadership in a dotted-line or matrixed structure.
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems and advanced Excel skills for building financial models and forecasts.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently on-site and align with corporate Finance.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA credential.
• Experience with international supply chains, tariffs, and customs or duty considerations.
• Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed manufacturing or hardware company.
• Familiarity with standard costing in a multi-SKU, complex BOM environment.
• NetSuite or similar ERP experience.
