Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within most U.S. states; Monday–Friday

Salary: $24–$26 per hour

What you will do

• Submit and monitor electronic and paper healthcare claims.
• Research and resolve unpaid, denied, and rejected claims, including payer communication and denial submissions.
• Manage EDI transactions, payer submission reconciliation, edits, and rejection reports.
• Complete collection activities, review payments, and process account adjustments in line with payer guidelines and filing limits.
• Monitor patient accounts, investigate billing irregularities, and respond to patient billing inquiries.
• Analyze denial trends and collaborate with insurance verification and other departments on process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of revenue cycle management experience, preferably including accounts receivable.
• Extensive healthcare accounts receivable and collections experience.
• Knowledge of medical coding, denials, payer requirements, and Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing.
• Experience with medical billing systems such as Candid Health or Healthie, ideally in digital or virtual health.
• Strong analytical, communication, customer service, prioritization, and documentation skills, with a commitment to HIPAA and regulatory compliance.

Nice to have

• Background in mental or behavioral health billing.
• Fluent Spanish.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
