Summer 2027 External Affairs Internship

Location: Columbus, Ohio office; onsite throughout the 12-week internship

What you will do

• Research community needs, volunteerism trends, associate engagement practices, and external organizations.
• Support corporate giving and volunteer engagement programs from planning through execution.
• Identify effective practices, sources of friction, and opportunities to scale across Community Engagement Councils.
• Summarize feedback, participation patterns, and improvement opportunities for recommendations and planning.
• Review onboarding materials, templates, and FAQs to improve clarity and usability.
• Support standardization of giving and volunteer-program workflows and service pathways.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Social Impact, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Within 2–3 semesters of graduation.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments, and collaborate on team-based initiatives.
• Must work from the Columbus, Ohio office for the full 12-week experience.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, associate experience, program delivery, strategic research, or process improvement.
• Experience with student organizations, volunteer activities, or collaborative projects.
