What you will do
- Direct daily operations across fiber lasers, press brakes, welding cells, hardware insertion, and powder coating and finishing.
- Manage master production scheduling, workload balancing, machine utilization, and on-time delivery performance.
- Integrate estimating, CAD/CAM, DFM, ERP, routing, nesting, and shop-floor execution workflows.
- Lead plant layout optimization, equipment acquisition and decommissioning, and throughput improvement projects.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, root-cause analysis, FAI oversight, quality compliance, and safety performance.
- Manage operating expenses, labor budgets, overtime, CapEx, KPIs, workforce development, and operator cross-training.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive operations management experience in custom metal fabrication, contract manufacturing, or a precision job shop.
- Deep knowledge of sheet metal operations, including fiber lasers, press brake setup, bend allowances, manual and robotic welding, and hardware installation.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems, automated quoting platforms such as SecturaSOFT, and CAD/CAM nesting workflows.
- Visible, hands-on leadership style with regular engagement on the shop floor.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
