Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication

What you will do

• Define, select, justify, and implement equipment, programs, tooling, and area layouts for capacity and continuous improvement projects.
• Partner with design engineering to integrate Design for Manufacturability into new products with sheet metal components.
• Support facility transformation, technology transfer, and maintenance of sheet metal fabrication value streams.
• Improve material, product, and information flow to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Implement process documentation, demand-driven manufacturing strategies, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Collaborate with shop-floor personnel and cross-functional partners on manufacturing methods, systems, controls, and customer fulfillment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of related engineering experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes such as turret punching, laser cutting, press brakes, and MIG welding.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment, CAD/CAM software, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ProE.
• Knowledge of lean principles, process improvement, problem-solving, and project leadership.
• Ability to work on-site and occasionally travel.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting soft-tooled sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience with Amada and Salvagnini fabrication equipment.
• Experience managing machine-tool acquisition and implementation from start-up through target production throughput.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume and high-volume, low-mix production environments.
