Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication

What you will do

• Implement innovative technologies, equipment, tooling, and processes for sheet metal fabrication and paint operations.
• Develop technology, capacity, and process roadmaps, global equipment standards, and capital expenditure justifications.
• Partner with design engineering to improve Design for Manufacturability in new products containing sheet metal components.
• Lead capacity analysis, OEE improvement, process optimization, facility transformation, and technology transfer initiatives.
• Establish process documentation, standards, and demand-driven operating practices for fabrication value streams.
• Collaborate with shop floor personnel and cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing methods, systems, controls, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting soft-tooled sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience with turret punching, laser cutting, press brakes, and powder coating; MIG welding experience is preferred.
• Experience managing the acquisition and implementation of machine tools from startup through target production throughput.
• Knowledge of lean principles, process improvement, CAD/CAM, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro/E.
• Strong project leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amada and Salvagnini fabrication equipment.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume and high-volume, low-mix production environments.
• Experience managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
