Senior Software Engineer (Node)

Location: Remote within the Eastern or Central time zones of the United States. Business hours are weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00 CST. Finalists must attend an in-person interview at the Dallas headquarters.

What you will do

• Lead architecture and system design across frontend, mobile, and backend platforms, including component design, rendering, state management, APIs, services, and data models.
• Design and implement complex production features with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and React Native.
• Build Next.js API routes and Node.js backend services covering API design, authentication, authorization, caching, and database access.
• Provide technical leadership to the Node sub-team through code reviews, mentoring, and coding standards.
• Own performance optimization, testing strategy, and CI/CD pipeline governance for secure, highly available applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience with primary frontend expertise.
• Deep production experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Senior-level React Native and Expo experience, plus strong Node.js backend skills and relational and document database design experience.
• Residence in the Eastern or Central time zones and availability during 9:00-17:00 CST business hours.
• Ability to attend an in-person interview at the Dallas headquarters.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of frontend and full-stack development experience.
• Experience in healthcare technology, health insurance, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with HL7 FHIR, X12, or NCPDP healthcare data standards.
• Experience with GraphQL Federation, tRPC, monorepo tooling, and relational or document schema design.
