A320 SMS and FOD Officer (Aerospace)

Location: Mobile Area, Alabama, United States; 70% onsite and 30% remote. Travel required: 30% domestic and international.

hirify.global develops and manufactures commercial aircraft, with the U.S. manufacturing facility producing A320 Family and A220 aircraft.

What you will do

• Lead the four pillars of the site Aviation Safety Management System: safety risk management, safety assurance, safety policy, and safety promotion.
• Manage and coach 18–23 SMS representatives and delegates while driving multifunctional problem-solving initiatives.
• Lead SMS investigations, safety risk assessments, threat evaluations, and Management of Change assessments for industrial ramp-ups and line modifications.
• Direct FOD prevention and process adherence across final assembly, flight-line, and customer-line operations.
• Deploy Lean, Kaizen, Practical Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, and hirify.global Operating System improvement practices.
• Interface with EASA, FAA, corporate auditors, suppliers, executive-level multifunctional teams, and cross-site quality networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in international aerospace manufacturing, aircraft quality management, safety management systems, or aircraft installation.
• Experience leading multifunctional teams in a process-driven aviation environment.
• Expertise in EASA/FAA airworthiness regulations, EN9100/9110, QMS, and SMS implementation.
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, hirify.global Operating System principles, Practical Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, and Human Factors.
• English is required; candidates must be eligible for employment in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Aerospace Engineering, or Business Administration.
