Thin Film Technician (Optics)

Location: Onsite in Boulder, Colorado, United States. The position involves handling ITAR-controlled information, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Operate coating chamber systems to produce coated optical components.
• Set up tooling, load and unload parts, foil chambers, change targets, and start coating runs.
• Perform spectrophotometer scans, chamber regens, simple crystal error recoveries, and tooling bead blasting.
• Handle laboratory chemicals and follow proper disposal procedures.
• Monitor chamber status and cleanliness to support product quality.
• Promote workplace safety, support 6S activities, and collaborate effectively within the team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of optics or related industry experience; demonstrated Technician 2-level expectations are preferred.
• Basic mathematics and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work onsite in Boulder and handle ITAR-controlled information; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a process manufacturing environment.
