Senior Reliability Engineer (PV+BESS)

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; other hirify.global offices in the US may be allowed with hiring manager approval. Includes up to 10–15% travel to project locations and partner offices.

Salary: $113,000–$141,525 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and implement reliability strategies for a portfolio of PV+BESS inverter assets, including maintenance standards and hardware configuration practices.
• Analyze failure and reliability data from operating sites and CMMS systems, maintaining bad-actor lists and recovery plans.
• Lead root cause analyses, FMEAs, repair plans, remediation activities, and major repairs with Operations, Engineering, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Evaluate sites for repowering and retrofit opportunities, including life-cycle cost modeling and cost-benefit analysis.
• Improve uptime and efficiency through electrical monitoring, thermal imaging, new operational tools, SAP work-management processes, and condition-monitoring systems.
• Provide technical support during outages and design reviews, mentor junior reliability engineers, and promote safe, high-reliability project execution.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience focused on equipment reliability, particularly high-power electrical systems.
• Experience with renewable power generation and PV+BESS inverter technology, including PCS, BESS, PV generation, DC wiring, controls, grid interactions, and HVAC.
• Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and Weibull, and reading equipment or facility schematics.
• Experience with CMMS, SAP PM, SCADA, condition-monitoring systems, data analytics, and database tools; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel within the United States to support the PV+BESS asset portfolio. Strong communication skills and commitment to safety and quality are required.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer qualifications or progress toward qualification, CMRP, CRE, or a master’s degree in engineering.
• Experience with control logic, power electronics, renewable power production, utility interconnection, or contract terms.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, CAD tools, or other analysis tools beyond Excel.
• Spanish language skills.
