Senior Specialist, Patient Access (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work within the United States.

What you will do

• Perform patient admissions, assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, process physician orders, and provide patient instructions.
• Complete insurance eligibility, benefits verification, medical necessity, consent, and compliance activities to support clean claims and accurate billing.
• Collect point-of-service payments, manage past-due balances and payment plan options, and meet assigned collection goals.
• Conduct account audits, correct issues, maintain documentation, and provide statistical reporting to Patient Access leadership.
• Develop training materials, deliver continuing education, and create department staff schedules.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support, including coverage for unscheduled staffing needs.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant job experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes, authorizations, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, medical terminology, or CPT and procedure codes.
• Ability to demonstrate inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-based process improvement.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States; the position requires onsite work in Pittsburgh, PA.
