Electrical/Avionics Systems Engineering Support - Journeyman (Avionics)

What you will do

• Support multidisciplinary systems development, trade studies, technical advisory services, and lifecycle sustainment for aircraft and related subsystems.
• Conduct technical analyses of design alternatives, system changes, integration risks, electrical systems, test data, and overall system performance.
• Develop and review system requirements, engineering changes, baseline updates, technical justifications, specifications, interface control documents, manuals, and technical data.
• Support airworthiness determinations, MFR development, MIL-HDBK-516 compliance, OSS&E requirements, architecture reviews, and interoperability assessments.
• Provide technical direction for propulsion systems, electronic sensors, defensive avionics, ground and support equipment, and aircraft survivability.
• Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, working groups, source selections, acquisition planning, mishap investigations, risk mitigation, and corrective-action activities.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain or hold a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with three years of relevant experience, including DoD support; or seven years of directly related experience with required certifications, including five years of DoD support.
• Degree must be from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong engineering principles and problem-solving skills grounded in mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with industry-standard engineering tools, methods, and testing.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams with a commitment to engineering ethics and professional development.
