Missile Flight Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; travel up to 25% CONUS and OCONUS.

What you will do

• Provide engineering and program execution support for ballistic missile target development, systems testing, mission planning, and live-fire flight test operations.
• Support requirements tracking, risk and opportunity management, design reviews, verification of prime contractor performance, and target integration activities.
• Participate in factory integration and test observation, on-range flight test execution, rehearsals, hot counts, and operations-console staffing.
• Prepare and review technical, planning, and mission execution documentation, including briefings for government leadership.
• Participate in or lead working groups, integrated product teams, and technical coordination with government, military, and contractor personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least eight years of flight test, defense systems, and/or aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with DoD/DoW systems engineering, system integration, and test operations.
• Working understanding of ballistic missile target subsystems, including boosters, guidance, navigation and control, flight termination, payload systems, instrumentation, and telemetry.
• Experience with Major Range and Test Facility Base sites and related documentation, RCC standards, UDS, and range safety data packages.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a DoW security clearance.

Nice to have

• On-range missile system test operations and mission-execution console experience.
• Experience developing test execution documentation, including test constraints, mission go/no-go criteria, countdown documentation, and UDS.
• Subject matter expertise in missile target subsystems and missile defense mission operations.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
