Associate Specialist, Patient Access

Location: Onsite at HSHS - St. Clare Hospital in Oconto Falls, WI; candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States. Hours are 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., including every other weekend.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, process physician orders, and complete compliance checks.
• Verify insurance eligibility, enter benefit data, support point-of-service collections, and contribute to clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and distribute required documents.
• Conduct account audits, maintain accurate records, and provide statistical reporting to Patient Access leadership.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and deliver compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must be able to work onsite at HSHS - St. Clare Hospital in Oconto Falls, WI.
• Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States.
