Member Advocate II (Healthcare)

Location: Remote-WI; hybrid role requiring travel. Candidates must reside in Wisconsin, with preference for the Milwaukee area.

Salary: $23.23–$39.61 per hour

What you will do

• Advocate for members and act as a liaison between the health plan, providers, advocacy groups, human services agencies, and state entities.
• Receive and resolve member complaints, formal grievances, care-access barriers, and cultural sensitivity issues.
• Evaluate member qualifications for benefit entitlement programs and advise on covered-service contract compliance.
• Conduct field trainings, orientations, coaching sessions, and face-to-face meetings with providers, members, community agencies, and health plan staff.
• Educate members and providers about benefits, policies, procedures, websites, and available resources.
• Participate in community coalitions, recommend process improvements, and report findings to senior management.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of public relations experience and experience working with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of healthcare, managed care, Medicare, or Medicaid.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to travel.
• Must reside in Wisconsin; the role is hybrid and includes field travel.

Nice to have

• Claims billing or coding knowledge.
• Insurance producer license.
