Assistant Branch Distribution Manager (Warehouse Operations)

Location: Norfolk, VA, United States; onsite. Travel required: 0–10%. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future. Relocation is not offered.

Salary: $62,800–$82,200 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order processing, distribution, sanitation, safety, and maintenance.
• Schedule, supervise, hire, train, evaluate, and develop warehouse personnel.
• Oversee a 13-route delivery fleet, including vehicle maintenance scheduling, driver safety training, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, stock location systems, warehouse productivity reports, budgets, and cost targets.
• Support warehouse management and purchasing systems, including implementation and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Transportation, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Human Resources, and EHS teams while supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations or warehouse management.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, local delivery, and hazmat compliance.
• Forklift experience or prior forklift certification.
• Proficiency with computers, warehouse software, WMS, and ERP platforms.
• Experience working within advanced safety programs and complying with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, coaching, and personnel-management skills.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Logistics, Management, or a related field.
• AS400 experience.
• Experience overseeing delivery fleet operations, including DOT and vehicle compliance.
