Civil/Traffic Project Engineer

Location: Irvine, California, or San Diego, California; primarily office-based with temporary field assignments and travel to offices, client locations, and work sites.

Salary: $148,000–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Assist the Project Manager in managing civil and traffic engineering projects.
• Prepare PS&E deliverables for projects with complex features.
• Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Track project invoices, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance to management and staff, mentor junior employees, and coordinate discipline work.
• Support proposals and develop project scopes and fees while interacting with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• 8+ years of prior experience in civil engineering design.
• Advanced knowledge of civil engineering design and experience producing PS&E deliverables.
• Experience with CAD and design software, including Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Experience tracking project budgets and schedules, with advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the home state; ability to drive and travel to field locations is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with rail grade crossings, roadway signage and striping, utility coordination, traffic signals, detour plans, traffic staging, or ADA design.
• Experience leading the civil discipline, managing project teams, and overseeing deliverable production.
