Tool & Die Maker III (1st Shift)

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin, United States; onsite in a manufacturing facility

Apogee Architectural Metals designs, engineers, extrudes, finishes, fabricates, and assembles aluminum architectural systems across North America.

What you will do

• Design, create, modify, test, and implement complex and custom tools, dies, molds, and fixtures.
• Perform advanced machining, CAD/CAM programming, and CNC operations.
• Manage the tool and die-making process from design and fabrication through production implementation.
• Apply GD&T, advanced blueprint reading, and precision measurement practices.
• Select appropriate materials and coatings for specific tooling applications.
• Lead projects, mentor less experienced makers, and support Tool & Die I, II, and III roles.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of advanced tool and die-making experience.
• Ability to accurately use measuring devices and hand tools.
• Ability to follow blueprints and interpret work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry.
• Ability to work near machinery with moving parts and follow strict safety protocols.

Nice to have

• Completion of a relevant apprenticeship or technical program.
