Tool and Die Maker II - Journeyman - 2nd Shift

Location: Whitewater, Wisconsin, USA. Onsite second-shift schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 3:15pm–1:15am. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, troubleshoot, modify, and install equipment, machinery, tools, dies, fixtures, and mechanical structures.
• Manage manufacturing rework projects and create prototype parts and models for new products.
• Diagnose and repair complex equipment breakdowns and coordinate with OEM vendors and external resources.
• Establish preventive-maintenance activities and spare-parts inventories for new equipment.
• Suggest and implement improvements that increase safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Train team members, support project managers and engineers, and coordinate maintenance activities when the Team Leader is absent.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of tool and die design and making experience.
• Certified Tool and Die Maker — Journeyman.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, prioritization, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to understand mechanical and electrical principles, machine functionality, drawings, schematics, and construction documentation.
• Ability to operate in indoor and outdoor areas, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, heights, fumes, odors, dirt, and dust; occasional lifting of 25–50 pounds is required.

Nice to have

• Machine repair experience and the ability to prototype or replicate machine parts.
• Advanced PC knowledge and experience with Windows-based software, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, AutoCAD, and Mastercam X.
• Demonstrated ability to train others in the tool and die craft and lead complex tool or equipment build projects.
