Tool & Die Maker - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, USA; onsite, 1st shift Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM

What you will do

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain dies, fixtures, gauges, jigs, and specialized tooling for alternator manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot proprietary and custom-built machinery, diagnosing issues involving alignment, tolerance stack-up, wear, vibration, heat, and mechanical interaction.
• Redesign and rework machine assemblies and components when standard repairs are insufficient.
• Operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, and grinders to manufacture replacement parts and custom components.
• Drive corrective actions and continuous improvements that increase uptime, reduce scrap, and improve process stability.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance, Engineering, and Production, while documenting changes and mentoring toolroom staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of Tool & Die Maker, toolroom, or precision machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and proprietary equipment.
• Ability to redesign and fabricate machine components with little or no assistance.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, work at machines for extended periods, and occasionally lift 25–50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or completed apprenticeship.
• Experience with alternator, motor, or other rotating equipment manufacturing.
• Experience with automated or semi-automated assembly processes.
• Leadership experience in continuous improvement or equipment reliability initiatives.
