Career Counselor

hirify.global provides workforce development services through Job Corps programs that support young people in education, employment, career development, and community participation.

What you will do

• Manage a caseload of Job Corps participants and provide career, academic, social, and personal development counseling.
• Assess student progress, document counseling contacts, update records, and maintain projection data.
• Help students set short- and long-term goals, address barriers to career readiness, and continue education or training.
• Connect students with community services and coordinate referrals, reports, reviews, and special counseling needs.
• Co-facilitate social skills, employability, and career success sessions and participate in student orientation and employability planning.
• Collaborate with departments and participate in Career Management Team decisions, including rotational weekend Counselor on Duty assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, including 15 semester hours in social services-related instruction.
• At least one year of counseling or related experience.
• Experience working with a diverse population of youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to follow safety practices and maintain a respectful, harassment-free environment for staff and students.
