EDA / CAD Engineer (Analog Design)

Location: Austin, TX or Palo Alto, CA; hybrid

What you will do

• Support IC design and IT leadership with tool and infrastructure upgrades.
• Manage repositories of PDKs, IPs, and EDA tools from multiple vendors.
• Advise design IT leadership on methodology improvements and future planning.
• Track relevant advancements in industry EDA tools.
• Develop user-friendly custom tools, scripts, and plug-ins where beneficial.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of Cadence tool flows, including Virtuoso, AMS, and Spectre.
• Experience with layout and signoff tools such as PVS/Pegasus and Calibre, plus synthesis, APR, and physical design tools including Genus and Innovus/DDI.
• Revision control and methodology experience, including Perforce or versIC, and internal and external IP management.
• Experience supporting multiple PDKs simultaneously; familiarity with TSMC and GF is preferred.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash/Shell, and SKILL.
• Experience with FlexNet/FlexLM license administration, Linux/Unix troubleshooting, compute-farm integration, environment modules, tool-version management, and CAD flow development.

Nice to have

• Remote computing support experience, including ETX.
• Experience supporting engineering teams across multiple international locations.
• Systems administration, build systems, Make/GNU Make, CMake, and custom Makefile-based flows.
• CI/CD and regression infrastructure experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
