TL;DR
Design Automation Engineer (TFM/EDA) (Semiconductor Design Automation): Supporting Intel PDKs, EDA tools, design flows, licenses, and compute environments for external foundry customers with an accent on tool methodology, physical design, and tapeout support. Focus on automating environment installation, debugging front-end and back-end flows, integrating new tools, and coordinating compute capacity and EDA provider support.

Location: United States — Folsom, California; additional locations include Phoenix, Arizona; Santa Clara, California; and Hillsboro, Oregon. Hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work. US citizenship and ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance TS/SCI are required.

Annual salary: $100,550–$194,270 USD.

hirify.global Foundry Automation supports government programs and external foundry customers with semiconductor design automation, process development kits, electronic design automation tools, and design workflows.

What you will do

  • Install, maintain, and provide technical support for design environments, including automation scripts, front-end and back-end EDA tools, flows, processes, licenses, and hirify.global PDK collateral.
  • Resolve tool and methodology issues affecting designers on the path to tapeout.
  • Support design ramp-up through training and documentation.
  • Coordinate with EDA providers to ensure required tool features are available for projects.
  • Partner with PDK and library experts, flow development teams, and product design teams.
  • Automate environment installation and integrate new tools and methods into scalable workflows while supporting compute capacity and debugging related issues.

Requirements

  • US citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance TS/SCI required.
  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 1+ years of experience, or MS with 2+ years of experience in front-end and back-end design tools and flows.
  • Experience with EDA tools, methodologies, physical design, optimization, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with Verilog, VHDL, Tcl, Perl, Python, Linux, bash, and tcsh.

Nice to have

  • Active US Government Security Clearance at Secret level or higher.
  • Hands-on experience installing industry-standard front-end and back-end EDA tools.
  • Experience installing foundry PDKs and flows, including Cheetah.
  • Experience with debugging and design automation.
