Design Automation Engineer (TFM/EDA)

Location: Folsom, California, United States; additional locations in Phoenix, Arizona; Santa Clara, California; and Hillsboro, Oregon. Hybrid work model with time split between an assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and support design environments including automation scripts, front-end and back-end EDA tools, flows, processes, licenses, and hirify.global PDK collateral.
• Resolve tool and methodology issues affecting designers on the path to tapeout.
• Support design ramp-up through training, documentation, and technical troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with EDA providers to ensure required tool features are available and reliable for projects.
• Partner with PDK and library experts, flow development teams, product design teams, and engineering computing teams.
• Create automation scripts and checkers, integrate new tools and methods, and help provision and debug compute capacity.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level.
• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or MS with at least 2 years of experience in front-end and back-end design tools and flows.
• Experience with EDA tools, design methodologies, physical design, optimization, and TFM flows.
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL, Tcl, Perl, Python, Linux, bash, and tcsh.

Nice to have

• Active US Government Security Clearance at Secret level or higher.
• Hands-on experience installing industry-standard front-end and back-end EDA tools.
• Experience installing foundry PDKs and flows, including Cheetah.
• Experience with debugging and design automation.
