Cybersecurity Staff Engineer (IAM)

Location: McKinney, Texas, United States; hybrid work with office-based and remote work depending on project requirements

What you will do

• Lead the technical architecture, engineering, and governance of Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and enterprise directory services.
• Design and implement authentication, federation, authorization, SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, and provisioning solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build IAM automation workflows and REST API integrations using Okta Workflows, Postman, PowerShell, Python, and related technologies.
• Onboard SaaS and enterprise applications into Okta and manage integrations with enterprise applications and cloud platforms.
• Lead IAM integration, tenant consolidation, domain migration, and access transition initiatives for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Drive the Okta and directory services roadmap while supporting Zero Trust, audit, compliance, vulnerability management, and security monitoring initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IAM, cybersecurity engineering, or a related field, including 7+ years working hands-on with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory.
• Deep expertise in SSO, MFA, federation, identity lifecycle management, and authentication technologies including SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SCIM, and LDAP.
• Experience with hybrid identity environments, REST APIs, Postman, Okta Workflows, PowerShell, Python, or similar automation technologies.
• Experience supporting IAM integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives independently in a hybrid work environment, with strong communication, troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and advanced cybersecurity frameworks.
• Knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
• Proficiency in Java or C++ and experience mentoring cybersecurity engineers.
• Master’s degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or GSE.
