Senior Software Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Cork, Ireland — hybrid; applications are welcomed from candidates across Ireland, with flexible office attendance agreed according to team and business needs.

Annual base salary gross: €61,000–€75,000 plus variable annual compensation.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable systems and services aligned with architectural standards and product requirements.
• Implement maintainable, performant, observable, and reliable microservices and APIs.
• Own complex features and components from design through deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational support.
• Build and enhance AWS serverless, event-driven, and container-based services using technologies such as Lambda, ECS, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and RDS.
• Apply authentication, authorization, security, GDPR, and PII-handling best practices.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Architects, Product Managers, and DevOps while contributing to code reviews, CI/CD, observability, and technical-debt reduction.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software development experience delivering production-grade applications in distributed or SaaS environments.
• Strong experience with either Node.js and TypeScript or Java with Spring Boot, concurrency, and RESTful services.
• Familiarity with React or similar modern frontend frameworks.
• Understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenancy, RBAC, SaaS security, scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with event-driven systems, automated testing, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and observability practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including troubleshooting complex production issues and working with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, Terraform, or CDK.
