Production Operator (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Low Moor, Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Onsite role operating rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, and control pumps, valves, reactors, tanks, and distillation systems.
• Start up, shut down, and adjust chemical processes according to SOPs and safety procedures.
• Conduct inspections, sampling, quality checks, housekeeping, and environmental compliance activities.
• Issue General Permits as a Competent Person within the assigned area.
• Respond to spills, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions; support emergency procedures and drills.
• Complete shift handovers and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• GCSEs at Grade 5 or above in English, Maths, and Science, or equivalent qualifications.
• Understanding of hazardous materials and process safety management.
• Ability to read P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety data sheets.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and safety-first mindset.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing is advantageous.

• Process or Engineering Apprenticeship.
