Principal Manufacturing Process Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $94,100–$123,480 per year

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing process development and design transfer from R&D and prototype builds into validated, production-ready processes.
• Define process validation plans, readiness-gate deliverables, standard operating procedures, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing documentation.
• Own complex manufacturing process areas and establish controlled, repeatable, and scalable methods for cryogenic and semiconductor test products.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone/Ishikawa methodologies.
• Analyze manufacturing, quality, and yield data while leading Lean, 6S, and PDCA continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct DFM reviews, identify manufacturing risks, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a master's degree, or a PhD without experience, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in manufacturing process engineering, process development, process validation, and new product introduction.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, cryogenic systems, DFM, PFMEA, ECOs, GD&T, and process flow documentation.
• Experience with root cause analysis, manufacturing quality and yield data, KPIs, and structured continuous improvement.
• Ability to work in Boulder in a combined office, laboratory, and manufacturing-floor environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed and travel up to 15%.
