Commissioning Manager (HVDC)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; office/site only. Travel is required, including worldwide business trips and long-term construction-site assignments. The role involves approximately 6–9 months in Raleigh and 6–9 months at different locations. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

What you will do

• Plan and execute testing and commissioning of HVDC transmission systems.
• Implement, test, and verify hardware, software, high-voltage equipment, and control and protection systems.
• Lead international commissioning engineers and support Lean, review, and lessons-learned programs.
• Act as the quality gate for hardware and software during Functional System Testing and Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Oversee construction-site processes, progress monitoring, documentation, and communication with suppliers and partners.
• Coordinate customer technical clarifications and support project risk, claim, quality, and non-conformance management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical education, training, and relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in commissioning or commissioning management for large-scale plants, such as HVDC plants, power plants, switchgear, or power distribution systems.
• Solid project management knowledge and strong decision-making, conflict-management, communication, motivation, and results-oriented skills.
• High availability for worldwide travel and long-term construction-site assignments in the U.S. and abroad.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
