Junior Backend Java Developer (Enterprise Payments and Credit Card)

Location: Minnetonka, MN, United States; office-based workplace. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Annual salary: $52,000–$101,000, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain RESTful enterprise APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to create a common API layer across data sources and applications.
• Contribute to system and data design, including availability, disaster recovery, database schemas, storage efficiency, data mapping, and API resilience.
• Support DevOps practices, automated builds, continuous integration, continuous deployment, environment setup, and cloud container transitions.
• Assist with the transition to Kafka, including use-case analysis, environment setup, data enrichment, and transformations.
• Implement scalable solutions, unit tests, automated test scripts, and ongoing improvements to integration assets and platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
• 1–3+ years of software development experience involving application interfaces between data sources and applications, or completion of qualifying Huntington training or apprenticeship programs.
• At least 1 year of DevOps experience.
• 1–3+ years of Java development experience with Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle.
• 1–3+ years of experience developing APIs with Java or similar object-oriented languages.
• Full-time authorization to work in the United States is required; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with REST, JSON, SOAP, SDLC, CI/CD, deployment automation tools such as Chef or Puppet, Git, GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong collaboration, analytical problem-solving, prioritization, and cross-organizational partnership skills.
