Assistant Data Center Manager

Location: Marble, North Carolina, United States; full-time onsite. Occasional travel between data centers may be required, and some nights and weekends may be required.

What you will do

• Support the Data Center Manager with deployments, decommissions, daily operations, and onboarding and training of employees.
• Oversee warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and quality control.
• Manage asset lifecycle activities from receipt at the data center through RMA and retirement.
• Plan client-hosted asset deployments by validating capacity, power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Manage time-off requests, timesheet approvals, labor planning, and site standup, customer move-in, and decommission activities.
• Define and enforce performance metrics while maintaining employee training, communication, uptime, and operational reliability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in a data center environment.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Understanding of network, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
• Proficiency with web-based programs, Excel, and word-processing software, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of blockchain and network equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
