Data Center Technician (AI)

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; 100% onsite. The role requires responding to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes during scheduled on-call shifts and may involve up to 10% travel to other data center locations.

Salary: $65,000–$83,000 base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain data center operations to support service availability, reliability, and defined service levels.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, networking, software, and physical infrastructure failures.
• Perform root-cause analysis and provide technical support to data center teams.
• Assemble, install, maintain, and inventory server and networking equipment.
• Develop scripts for updating server and networking hardware, and create operational documentation.
• Train internal teams and participate in a rotating on-call schedule within a 24/7 environment.

Requirements

• Hands-on or education-based experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and assembly.
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Ability to transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and work in cramped, elevated, hot, and cold aisle environments ranging from 60°F to 90°F.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 environment and participate in rotating on-call shifts.
• Strong time management, organization, communication, prioritization, and rapid incident-response skills.
• Must meet applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to controlled information.

Nice to have

• Data center and computer networking experience.
• Python, Bash, or other scripting experience.
• Experience with Cisco IOS or Juniper JunOS.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
