Patient Access Associate Specialist - Part Time

Location: Onsite at RSFH - Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, South Carolina; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.

Salary: $21.00–$22.30 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and patient access duties for hospital services, including assigning accurate medical record numbers and completing compliance checks.
• Pre-register patient accounts and collect demographic, insurance, financial liability, point-of-service, and past-due balance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select applicable plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute patient education materials.
• Screen Medicare medical necessity using ABN software and document required notices and forms.
• Audit accounts, maintain accurate records, report statistics, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• Entry-level opportunity requiring at least one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCR certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
• Must be able to work onsite at Roper Sawmill Hospital in Summerville, SC and reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
