IT Field Engineer (Networking)

Location: Onsite at multiple client locations in the Chicago Metro Area

Salary: $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Manage users and resolve technical issues at client locations.
• Provide advanced desktop and end-user support across Microsoft and MacOS environments.
• Support server, cloud, Active Directory, VoIP, and local network environments.
• Perform server maintenance, including storage, RAID, hard-drive, and hardware-versus-software troubleshooting.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN tunnels, and SD-WAN environments.
• Participate in and lead client meetings, document technical information, and provide environmental status updates.

Requirements

• Experience providing independent onsite IT support and making autonomous technical decisions with minimal guidance.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Exchange, Hyper-V, and VMware.
• Proficiency with Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Server operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with IPv4 routing and switching, Aruba switches and access points, FortiGate Firewalls, and FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience configuring IPSec VPN tunnels, SD-WAN, DNS, and DHCP services.
• Ability to travel to client sites, drive to work locations, sit, stand, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. A technical skills assessment is required.
