TL;DR
Building Infrastructure Project Manager (Federal Construction/Building Envelope): Managing medium to large full-lifecycle turnkey projects for federal facilities with an accent on budgets, schedules, construction compliance, and building-envelope work. Focus on coordinating geographically dispersed projects, inspecting construction activities, managing safety and quality requirements, and leading project teams, subcontractors, and federal customer relationships.

Location: 100% remote with approximately 30% travel to federal, military, correctional, industrial, and other controlled-access job sites; access to federal worksites and successful background checks are required. Convenient access to a major airport is preferred.

What you will do

  • Manage medium to large, full-lifecycle turnkey projects from proposal development through project closure.
  • Control project budgets, financial reporting, forecasts, resources, schedules, and operational functions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed traditional project schedules and work plans.
  • Present project strategies, adjustments, budgets, and estimates to stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with federal customers and coordinate with government officials, commercial customers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Inspect construction activities and direct or indirectly supervise project engineers, assistant project managers, superintendents, safety and quality-control personnel, foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Seven to ten years of project management experience overseeing complex, multi-year federal building-envelope projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Safety, Health and Environmental management experience and strong knowledge of construction safety and fall-protection requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Experience managing electrical, mechanical, building-envelope, commercial, or industrial infrastructure design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction projects.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, ability to pass background investigations and drug screening, and eligibility for controlled-access federal and military sites are required.

Nice to have

  • PMP, Certified Construction Manager, or Certified Professional Constructor certification.
  • Roofing installation and building-envelope repair, restoration, or roof-replacement experience.
  • Civil infrastructure experience involving underground utilities and structural foundations.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification and experience with bonding, security clearances, Buy American compliance, or domestic material sourcing.
  • Experience with estimation software and tools.
