Salary: $85,000–$105,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

  • Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies for utility-scale solar, wind, BESS plants, and substations.
  • Support short-circuit, load-flow, harmonics, relay protection, arc-flash, and related electrical studies under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
  • Coordinate with design teams to model evolving project designs and verify electrical adequacy and reliability.
  • Review equipment data sheets, manuals, and testing reports for design and approval activities.
  • Manage assigned tasks, communicate workload constraints, and support project schedules, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Maintain client relationships, follow applicable codes and standards, and participate in safety training and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; an electric power option is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of power systems concepts, including per-unit systems and three-phase analysis.
  • 0–1 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
  • Effective written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
  • Ability to work additional time beyond 40 hours per week when required, travel typically 5–15%, and lift 25 pounds.

Nice to have

  • FE certification.
  • Experience with EasyPower, ETAP, PowerFactory, SKM, PSS/E, or PSCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
