Costs Lawyer

Location: Hybrid role based in London or another hirify.global branch location across the UK

Salary: £52,021–£55,932 per year, plus a £4,000 car allowance

What you will do

• Manage a full caseload of high-value costs matters, including serious injury, asbestos, clinical negligence, and other personal injury Multi Track cases.
• Prepare Costs Budgets, Statements of Costs for Summary Assessment, estimates, and formal Bills of Costs.
• Negotiate costs budgets and bills of costs and settle claims on the best possible terms.
• Attend Costs CMCs, Detailed Assessment hearings, and application hearings.
• Work closely with PI lawyers as part of the legal team and advise on live claims.
• Provide day-to-day coaching and technical guidance to colleagues as a Supervision Buddy.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Law Costs professional handling high-value personal injury Multi Track matters.
• Good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Qualified Costs Lawyer preferred; applications are also welcomed from Chartered Legal Executives and Solicitors.
• Persuasive advocacy, confident negotiation, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, file management, organisation, and ability to work independently within a team.
• Comfort using standard IT packages, including Outlook and Word; experience with Costs Master is beneficial.
