Professional Negligence Lawyer

Location: Hybrid role based in London or Manchester, with three days per week in the office and two days at home.

What you will do

• Manage an independent caseload of professional indemnity claims from inception through trial or resolution.
• Litigate cases, attend court events, draft motions, briefs, disclosure requests, and other court documents.
• Handle complex and high-exposure files under the guidance of the Head of Legal Practice.
• Conduct legal research, supervise delegated research, and provide case analysis and handling recommendations to business partners.
• Contribute to the development and management of the Alternative Business Structure, special projects, and committees.
• Maintain client relationships, accurate file records, regulatory compliance, time reporting, and administrative documentation.

Requirements

• Fully qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales.
• Authorisation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority is required, or employment will be subject to obtaining authorisation.
• University degree and some post-qualification experience.
• Experience in professional negligence, professional indemnity, financial risks, or insurance litigation.
• Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, presentation, research, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently, collaborate effectively, and work with integrity and professionalism.
