Solicitor (Crime & Regulatory): Managing complex health and safety and serious motor law cases from inception to resolution with an accent on technical legal analysis and client relationship management. Focus on analyzing prosecution evidence, drafting defense statements, and attending trials and inquests.

Location: Hybrid in Leeds, UK

What you will do

  • Analyze prosecution evidence and assess legal implications for clients.
  • Draft witness statements, defense case statements, and sentencing and mitigation bundles.
  • Liaise with courts, coroners, regulators (HSE, CQC, Police), and external experts.
  • Attend interviews under caution, inquests, and trials alongside Counsel.
  • Conduct detailed legal and regulatory research, including HSE guidelines.
  • Review medical records, post-mortem reports, transcripts, and CCTV evidence.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with NQ – 4 years PQE.
  • Experience in Health & Safety, Regulatory, Inquests, Traffic Commissioner, or Serious Motor law.
  • Must be based in or able to work in Leeds (Hybrid).
  • Strong communication skills for building rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and remain professional under pressure.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management systems.
