Product Development Engineering Co-op

Location: Onsite in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The co-op term starts January 4, 2027 and is available for 8, 12, or 16 months.

Salary: CAD 40,000–50,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support the design and prototyping of electromechanical subsystems for new commercial instrumentation.
• Create test plans from product requirements and execute tests through completion.
• Prepare test reports and identify follow-up work based on test results.
• Develop test fixtures and jigs to support experimental activities.
• Develop software tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Contribute to product development, scientific, and product support goals through design documentation.

Requirements

• Currently studying Nanotechnology Engineering, Engineering Physics, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or another multidisciplinary engineering degree.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, electrical circuits and circuit design, and/or software tools.
• Experience designing, fabricating, and testing prototype instruments.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
