TL;DR
Artisan (Opto-Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Assembly): Assembling, integrating, aligning, testing, diagnosing, and repairing opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems with an accent on precision assembly, calibration, acceptance testing, and traceability. Focus on interpreting manufacturing documentation, performing system-level diagnostics, executing controlled test procedures, and resolving production and product faults.
Location: Irene, South Africa; onsite production role

What you will do
- Receive, inspect, clean, and prepare production kits and components against work-order requirements.
- Assemble and integrate opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical components and sub-systems using approved manufacturing documentation.
- Perform mechanical and optical alignment, calibration, functional testing, and acceptance-test procedures.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair products and systems using approved procedures, test equipment, and test software.
- Complete work orders, build-history documents, test records, and technical feedback to maintain product traceability.
Requirements
- Recognised trade certificate in a relevant technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience with opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical, or precision product assembly.
- Knowledge of technical and manufacturing drawing interpretation, optics handling and cleaning, ESD control, and mechanical and optical alignment.
- Ability to perform system integration, calibration, functional testing, diagnostics, repair, and acceptance-test procedures.
Nice to have
- Experience with system integration, alignment, functional testing, diagnostics, or repair.
- Experience with controlled manufacturing documentation and quality-acceptance processes.
- Experience with burn-in, vacuum baking, leak testing, purging, prototype, or engineering-sample assembly.
