Building Services Technician

Location: Weighbridge Rd, Shirebrook, Mansfield, UK; onsite role supporting a 24-hour warehouse operation.

What you will do

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across a large-scale warehouse site.
• Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical and mechanical building services, including power, lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, drainage, doors, and fire safety systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete effective repairs to minimise downtime and maintain safe, compliant operations.
• Complete CMMS work orders and maintain accurate PPM logs, defect reports, handover notes, and service evidence.
• Support contractors and engineers with access, escorts, isolations, handovers, and larger maintenance or small-scale project work.
• Communicate with the Facilities Shift Manager, warehouse colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a multi-trade or maintenance role, preferably in a warehouse or large-scale site environment.
• Relevant technical qualification, such as NVQ Level 2+, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.
• Practical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems or multi-skilled trade experience.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility to work overtime and participate in weekend or on-call rotas when required.

Nice to have

• IPAF, PASMA, forklift, or similar relevant licences.
